MS office macros are programmed in Visual Basic. You can find how to and code snippets online. Also key concepts for coding (if statements, loops, functions) are the same most coding, so if you learn the fundamentals it is easy to apply to others

I ask because I was just told on my (non-technical project/team) to learn SQL and access and sharepoint and I'm like wtf

Being able to write macros and stored procedures can be gold...SQL is too basic

Ok, maybe I misinterpreted. I don't know anything about it. Where would I start if macros are my goal? Are they similar to excel macros? Sorry if that's a stupid question.
