Agreed! When I was able to drive to client site I always packed my lunch. I'm able to afford eating out every day, but it would be nice to save the $40+ a week and eat healthier. Everything adds up & paying back student loans is no joke.
The "no expensing lunch" rule is absurdity. Corporate: " yeah I'm going to need you to leave your family, get on an airplane, and stay in a hotel working till midnight every week. But don't forget, lunch is on you." Is EY and PWC rate card that low that in order to keep margins they need that extra 40 bucks a week?
That's pretty infuriating. If you were at home you may bring food from home to save money which you obviously can't do on the road, so they're costing you extra money. Plus your options near client site may be limited. It's not a matter of whether you can afford it, it's the principle.
Hahahahaha. What the hell kind of short sighted crap is that EY? Seriously? Charge it through to your clients and keep your people happy.
WE STAND ALONE TOGETHER
I would not do this job if the food wasn't reimbursed
No lunch here either
PwC does not allow lunch either
Yes
Might as well stop reimbursing for flights and make you share hotel rooms too.
Just expense it as breakfast as well. I get away with it all the time.
D5, PWC makes their new analysts share hotel rooms at training 😂
Yeah... No sharing rooms here. We also have a training facility with an 800 room luxury hotel attached. bloom.bg/1bt832j

Really EY2? Want me to send my reimbursed meals to Africa since we clearly don't deserve them? It's called having perks and milking them for all their worth
So now I'm wondering all the firms that don't reimburse lunch. EY, PWC, Cap Gemini? Sick and wrong.
Why not just charge it through as breakfast like everyone else..? You only get $15 or whatever the breakfast limit is now, but still.
Deloitte doesn't share rooms at new hire training?!?!
That's ridiculous, but if that's your only reason for quitting, it's probably not worth it.
Can you just lump lunch expenses with either breakfast or dinner?
