I interviewed at a law firm and had my final round last Friday. The Tuesday afterward, I got a call from the recruiter saying the firm won’t have a decision for another week. I believe they’re interviewing other candidates. Does that make me second or third choice? And does the fact that I’m working with a recruiter hurt my chances of being selected due to the commission? Should I hold out for the offer or is 1+ week a sign that I won’t be selected?

I have 8 years of work experience. Last 5 years of experience in sitecore development projects. Prior to that I was more into content management only. I’ve been seeing all of the Instagram and Linked In posts from agencies in town showing their “commitment to transparency in hiring” and to hire more minorities in light of the BLM movement. I knew the numbers were bad, but holy shit, not THAT bad.
It’s infuriating to me, as a POC how many fucking times I applied, emailed and reached out to so many of these agencies without getting even the time of day.
I’ll believe their supposed commitments, when I actually see the results.
