Thought this was interesting. Across 160 teams of researchers, just about all failed to make good life outcome predictions on things like GPA, evictions, layoffs, and others. Data followed 4.5k families across 15 years, with 13k features (varied over time). Haven't looked at it directly yet, but will be turning the docs and data inside out... In the meantime, authors claim this as showing the limits of ML. Oh, and it's published in PNAS, so you know there's some big publication energy there.

Depends I think. For regular consulting, no. I think clients are getting exhausted with bs and the golden era of high rate consulting is likely dying (I think the John Oliver special is a side effect of the exasperation companies have with high price/low impact strategy consultants).
For data consulting - will keep growing. For tech consulting, especially sap, will keep growing.

Slow your roll.... stop blasting off your applications rapid fire. If nothing is hitting, slow down and review your process and approach. There are all types of scraping tools... if you act like a bot you may get algorthrymically eliminated.
Pause everything. Create a fresh email just for applications. Tune up your resume and practice interviewing. With percision apply to the jobs you actually want or are qualified for. Yes aim high at some reach jobs as well but quality over quantity.
If you still don't get hits look at other industries. Some of the happiest people I know fell into their careers by happen-stance.
Look for inspiration. You might come up with a brilliant idea to start your own thing. Stay positive and good luck!
We can only hope now honestly. Such a shit show right now.
Be one of the first to apply to new jobs. Set LinkedIn or other search filters to only show you positions posted in the past week, day, etc.
Nope ... 1200 over 7 months and 5 interviews (4 in europe which seems to be a bit better than NA)
