It’s very white. The whole business is. They have put in more effort than others historically though.

How so?
I would love to work at W+K, but mainly for the creative-led culture. I’ve seen a few other shops do better in diversity. But I admit I may have missed something.
In my experience, way better. It's an open, honest, people-first culture in which they don't shy away from issues, they face them head-on. I loved it here before Covid and BLM, now even more. It's an oasis in the middle of the desert.
They are better than anyone else. They still exist in the same culture of white supremacy that we all do but the they started talking about equality and diversity earlier than most. The type of culture wk has cultivated allows does people to speak up quicker and louder than other places. But, there are still issues. It is not a utopia. Sexism, ageism, and racism still exist here.
She/he gets it 👌🏼
Confirmed. And the push for diversity came way before BLM and came from the heart and soul of Dan Wieden. It is a very much a values based company about both the work and its people and uses its independence to preserve those values.
I would agree with this. I got the awesome opportunity of helping Dan and the folks at caldera during my time at W+K and you could see his passion of teaching underserved kids creativity. His appreciation for all people was something I’ve not seen again in my career. Understanding that it was an issue that his agency was a bunch of white folks selling shoes to minorities. I was beyond impressed he spent his time money and talents helping form the next generation of diverse creatives.
Agree with all the above. Open about it, wants to be better. But still very white, very masculine, very rich kids and yes Bro culture still prominent. But maybe that’s also reflective of the industry and society we unfortunately live in.
