Stay positive! I'm not sure what kind of certifications they are getting but I know that nowadays there are plenty of bogus certifications you can obtain that don't meant much other than something you can boast about. Real world experience will always be important, so don't sell yourself short or over-compare
It’s never too late to stay relevant and motivated in your profession! Your experience is a tremendous asset that new graduates cannot replicate. Consider pursuing certifications that don’t require a residency, like BCMTMS or BCPS, to expand your expertise. Mentoring, networking, and exploring niche roles in pharmacy—such as consulting or MTM—can also bring new energy to your career. Staying curious, embracing change, and leveraging your strengths will ensure you remain an impactful force in your field. You’ve got this!

You’re not aging out—you’re experienced! Leverage your expertise by mentoring newcomers, pursuing targeted certifications, or attending workshops. Focus on skills tech can’t replace, like leadership and patient care. Stay motivated by embracing your invaluable wisdom.
Your experience is good! But don't limit yourself! See if there are some certifications that you can obtain. It’s never too late! Only thing think of your ideal situation. Don't forget about some things you may have laid down because of raising your family, etc. Dream a little. The sky is the limit. Hope this helps!
Thank you all for your comments. I appreciate the encouragement. 😁
I work in a hospital pharmacy and value my “older” pharmacists. Knowledge is power and always remember that.
Be encourage you are not too old and you’re not aging out. I was recently laid off for six months and it seem like my bachelors and my masters wasn’t worth anything, but I kept on fighting, and I ended up getting a full scholarship into a substance use disorder, professional program online fast track, because I noticed my care coordination my certification at degrees was not enough and no sooner as I enrolled in school I got a job offer as a care, coordination manager, where I am oversight on four major contracts, and six people are under me seven so it ain’t over until God say Amen. One of the things that I admire about the Genzie and millennials generation they believe that if they can visualize it and believe it, they can manifest it and the older, I get, I believe that faith is a spiritual law that has been put in the universe and no matter hall. If you are a Christian or not if you believe it, you can’t obtain it I kept getting turned down for management positions over and over and over but I believe that is impossible to knock on the doors and they don’t open and I kept on knocking so faith is a law that has been put in the earth just like the law of gravity what goes up what comes down do encouraged you’re not too old
Your experience matters!!!!

I would push yourself to see what kinds of certifications and professional development you can do now to keep yourself up to date and relevant.
We stay relevant by maintaining a commitment to life-long learning, which includes training and certifications. At 61, I earned independent licensure but am also training in therapy that is new to me but highly sought after. My company paid for all of this. Don't let yourself get locked into the "ageism" mindset that you aren't valued. All the supervisors on my team are 20 yrs my junior but I KNOW they care about my judgment, my feedback and retaining me. My coworkers also turn to me for guidance and encouragement. That said I value their skills and experience and let them know it.
