Yea, we are in the no-nap transition zone. They are 2.5 and you can tell from their emotions and energy the nap is still needed, but refused and then this bleeds over into very late nights of overtired hyperactivity. So much fun ;) about 3 weeks in to this new normal so hopefully they'll figure out life soon.
This is just every day normal for my kids.
It probably means he needs to drop the nap and go to bed earlier. It was a tell tale sign when our kid was around that age. He put him to bed at around 715-730 and then he started sleeping almost a full 12 hours.
Overtired kids end up getting less sleep, so it’s better to put them down earlier. They’ll get better sleep.
Yup. Sleep regression is a thing. Might have to calibrate when they go to bed. Paradoxically, it might mean you have to put him to bed even earlier. Our kids (6 and 4) are in bed by 8pm and wake up at 6:45-7am and we're not even sure if that's enough.
How do you get this happen?!?! When do you have dinner? Do you start bedtime right after? My kids (5 and 3) are awake until 9-9:30 despite our best efforts.
Yes, same thing happened to our son at that age. Was a rough month of sleep regression. We had to lay in his room with him for him to go down, and gradually moved closer and closer to the door each day until we would be on the other side but talking to him through the door.
Best of luck getting through this but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. He’s 2.5 now and pretty much puts himself to bed no fuss from 8-730

Oh man I had no idea they might drop the nap that early. I really, really cherish that time right now 😂.
I hear you! When my firstborn was that age it was a glorious time. Now if he naps at daycare or falls asleep midday in the car (both rare, but happens) I cringe for what I know will come at bedtime
