Hey guys. I have been applying to Amex for the past 1 year. Tried applying on the portal, through referrals and even hr consultants reached me regarding the roles since I have a relevant profile. But not once have I been shortlisted or called for an interview. What could be the problem?
PS: I have gotten calls from every other company for the same profile but not amex. Can't be a problem with the profile. Seems something dicey which I'm not aware of.American Express

Exit immediately. You won’t be able to make good decisions if your mental health is destroyed
I agree I'm GPS and I've not ever worked 12/13 on the regular. Now don't get me wrong there are heats but rare. However I have noticed some people can't even handle that for 2 weeks (I'm starting to get there).
Leave ASAP!!! I decided to stay and my mental health has significantly deteriorated! I’m putting my notice on Friday and I’m going to be in therapy for awhile.
D4, you can take STD if you're in therapy for full pay (work with talent and then it's through insurance), then put in your notice when you return....
Honestly, leave. I hated it here 3 years ago when I started, and kept thinking it would get better.. and I would find the right project.. it doesn't. Putting in notice Friday, and can't wait to be done. I should have done this when I first recognized how unhappy I was.
You joined a traveling job during a pandemic, you’re seeing the worst of the job without any of the perks. I would suggest you exit if you think that’s the right thing for you.
Hey it's not worth it if it's killing you inside. Feel free to reach out, can try to help where it's possible.
What kind of consulting are you in?
I have been in GPS for 10+ years and have ever only been on one project like this. This is not the norm. Find a new project! But also leave if you want! Hours May get better but what consulting “is” will not really change.
OP you should consider transferring to GPS! It’s not perfect, but I’ve been very happy in GPS for 1.5 years now. Bit lower pay, but the meaning of work + hours seems significantly healthier than commercial
Actually, ignore this — didn’t see you were already in GPS. Might be worth trying another project; there is a ton of variety now
OP, fwiw, my first year of consulting was terrible (not at Deloitte though). I had multiple breakdowns. It gets easier as you network with people you want to work with and who prioritize the same things you do and you get better at the job. I tried exiting multiple times my first year but didn’t have any compelling exit ops, whereas after my first promotion, I had a ton of big tech / PE / VC offers. It might be worth seeing if you can network with the right people at Deloitte, and stick it out for a bit.
Do 2 years and then jump, brand value is great if you jump within 2-4 yra
You are the only one that can make this call for yourself, since only you know how much you are willing to sacrifice. I was in the same position but have stayed and waited, and I’m not getting much better opportunities when looking to exit.
Felt this way since the beginning and planning on exiting after 3 years. Get out if you can. The strain on your mental health is t worth it. Only tip: get something lined up vs just quitting, you don’t need to add more stress.
Really get out. If you don’t like it, it’s not worth wasting time.
Wait why does a GPS project require so many hours?
I can relate to this but I’m not working these crazy hours. Coming from industry consulting is not what I thought it would be
I hope you are allowed to track all of your hours officially and not 👻 them.
