it’s called growing up
I don't know, I'm surrounded by grownups of all ages who are nowhere near sober-curious lol
Recently, I've been thinking that if you want to keep seeing your close group of drinking buddies, you should try to arrange non-drinking outings with them, such as brunch dates, picnics, or movie marathons.
I’m 22, and I drank in college but always, always, regretted it. My whole family has a resistant genetic thing to alcohol, we all get sick from anything but wine over like 9oz pours. My Dad has not had a sip of alcohol in 30 years now. Mom does a lil wine because she’s a teacher (kids are a lot), and my 18yr old brother woke up in a field once in his own puke, and stopped after that😂
Obviously I’m still young, and I’m now with someone who also doesn’t drink aside from the occasional beer out, and we get SO much sh*t from friends who make drinking their entire social lives and personality.
I’m not above it all, it just makes me sick and I set my boundaries so they don’t pressure me much anymore, but even as our younger years march on I can see the wear of it on them. Pallid skin, dark circles, weight gain, swollen/puffy faces or bodies. We don’t see that a most alcohol out there is actually a toxin our body has to literally filter 😬 I’m glad people are going sober!
Thanks so much for sharing your perspective. I hate that when people don't drink (for whatever reason), the people they're close to give them shit for it. I'm sure it makes them feel weird about their own overindulgence, but still -- like in your case, you are just doing what's best for your body. No one should ever make you feel bad for that!
I think it comes with age. I'm 26 right now and I am already tire of the party lifestyle. It doesn't suit me because my body can't recover fast enough. I drink from time to time but not nearly as much
Been wanting to. I think I need a consultation with a therapist about this. I recognize that I need the help but I don't do anything to stop the behavior.
Oh gosh. This is really a pet peeve of mine. I see tons of ladies putting on eye makeup without ever blending it. I cringe at it, I shouldn't be because I sound like a hater but there is always a better way to do it.
It's okay, but if you haven't been on youtube when the 2014 to 2016 makeup tutorial boom was happening then you are probably still applying makeup like this. Practice makes perfect honey. Go for it!
I've been sober for more than 5 years. I'll never go back to drinking. I had 99 problems, but 98 of them went away as soon as I stopped drinking alcohol. If you're considering extending dry January into February, do it. You'll be happy you did.
Yes! I was inspired by 75 Hard. While I don’t religiously stick to it, I’ve made a conscious effort to say no to alcohol. I intentionally reduce my alcohol consumption, and am more aware of how often alcohol is incorporated into social scenes. If it’s a one glass of wine kind of night, I now say no bc there’s really no point beyond fitting in and the added calories.
