I mean just give two weeks from when you want to start? You owe your project team nothing, they owe you nothing. This is a job that would fire you without a blink of the eye. There’s no reason to worry more than they would.
Listen, Accenture makes decisions without any consideration for you. So follow suit and do what Accenture would do. Do what's best for you and don't worry about the team or the company - they will survive. Besides working with them you may decide to stay for the entire project after all. Best wishes!
You can say that the project is not aligned to your career expectations and that you will not accept the role and search for a more suitable one on the next few weeks
I love these ethical dilemmas where people put personal greed first
My advice is you got to watch out for -#1, you start the project instead of just resigning now consider the bridge burned as it all but certainly is, MD will make certain of it, but the bridge towers actually among the peers and project team. They will grow with you and it’s a small world and if you end up working with, for or supervising someone there somewhere else down the road that can come back and bite you really bad. Really bad.
