I've been told by many not to consider government jobs but lately I've come to value job stability over income increases. If you're in this bowl and you work in government could you share your experience? Would you recommend it and what are the pros and cons you've noticed? Thanks!

My spouse works a government job and here's some insight we've noticed. Definitely the biggest con of a government job is the bureaucracy. A task that would take a day in a corporate setting takes a week on average here. Everything they do is so damn slow and it is very difficult to get ahold of people. Also, you may end up in a location or job series where there is little to no room for upward advancement, so if you want that, be sure to ask in the interview phase about those opportunities. You may have to move to get the opportunities you want and those come at your own expense about 90% of the time. Also, the flexibility isn't as good during the day, and in the beginning the vacation accrual sucks (8 hours per month in federal for the first 3 years of service, typically).
On the plus side, the stability is great, the pay increases are fine, the health benefits are very good. If you can last the 20 years, the pension is still pretty damn good. It really comes down to what you want in life.

Looking for some advice on a career change. I work in a technical role and have well-developed soft skills. I want to transition to UX (w/ focus on accessibility). There are a lot of UX educational programs out there, some very new, e.g. Dribbble, and costs are all over the place - General Assembly is $15k (and full-time), CareerFoundry almost $8k, and then many others at a fraction of the price. Reviews also vary wildly. Are these more expensive programs worth the huge increase in cost?

I am getting a good project in current company where there will be lot of learning
Initially it will be manual and then it will have automation testing. At the same time I have an offer in another company with good package but there won't be much learning compared to the current company project I am yet to get locked. Is learning important and priority for 4.5 years of experience? Or better to go with the high package offer? (Other company offer is from TCS). Your valuable comments would help.

If you had a table of customer experience/satisfaction survey responses for several questions (non-numeric but discrete possible answers, no free text; 1 question per column and 1 responder per row), how would you approach determining significant insights within the data? Excel's "Analyze Data" feature doesn't really suggest things that make sense in the real world. Is there something you would try with correlations somehow, or would you use a non-Excel tool entirely?
