I've been working at Medpace since the start of this year as an analyst. The company boasts about culture but lacks critical management - someone knew starts almost every week and someone leaves every other week. Everyone was clinically depressed, overworked, and underpaid. Management was horrible, along with HR - no consideration for others. I am looking to leave for a better CRO since half my team have left already.

Want to get a sense check. Typical English firm salaries in London are about 70% Cravath (unless you're at one of the US firms that benchmarks to Cravath scale offices). 2PQE is around 165k USD + 30k bonus assuming 1800 billables. So comparing at a firm where you roughly bill 1900-2000 a year, you lose out, but if you bill 2200+, that's comparable?

Thinking aloud here - if you can find that 2000-billing firm, no sense staying in that payscale unless you have a shot at equity?

What do you think about Retention Bonuses? Is it a good or a bad thing? Love to hear your thoughts on this.

I do sales for a major engineering firm. Focused on new business and exploring new markets. Last year I was in the top 50% for order intake, and first in number of projects won along with number of new customers. I think this is extraordinary given the effort it takes to win new business.
