If it’s been referenced in the application what further clarity do you need? Was it a big range?
I think you’re far enough along that you could ask the recruiter to confirm the salary range because you’re investing a lot of time into this process and want to make sure everyone is on the same page. It’s a super reasonable request as long as you’re not making it sound like you’re trying to negotiate before there’s even an offer on the table.
Ah got it. Yeah definitely ask them to confirm the salary range! You can frame it as now that you’re further along in the process and have a clear view of the role you want to make sure you’re all on the same page salary range wise before you continue investing time in the portfolio presentation. Don’t let ‘em low ball you!
Connect with the recruiter and ask to have a quick call. On the call ask to confirm the salary range for the role. It’s okay to explain you want to ensure it’s a good fit before time investment of a presentation.
Just ask. “Before moving forward I’d like to have a conversation about compensation.” Or “before I prep for this 3rd interview, I wanted to clarify the salary range for this role. I’m targeting _________. Assuming all goes well, would that be a number we could consider?” Idk something like that.
Don’t worry about tiptoeing too much. Politeness comes in your tone. Nobody wants to waste anybody else’s time so they’ll appreciate you bringing it up. You could tell the recruiter you’d like to chat quick to ask a few clarifying questions to prep for the 3rd interview. Good luck!
