I've noticed that I rarely come across women Principal Engineers or senior individual contributors (ICs) with 15 to 20+ years of experience.

Do many women developers tend to move into engineering management after 10–15 years, or is my observation just due to the companies I've worked at?

I just got a job offer for an Entry Level Software Engineer at Boeing in Saint Louis. The salary is $82,000 with an $8,000 sign on bonus. I was hoping for an offer closer to 90k base and I don’t care too much for a sign on bonus. However, this is a lot more than what I’m making now, and would be my first SWE job. Should I counter? If so, how would I go about doing that? Thanks!

I have seen they are hiring for many roles and am curious to hear about their experience. In particular, I would like to hear about software engineer roles. Currently I work on database engine C++ code and have seen some roles that indicate continuing down this stream would be possible with my skillset.

When do you Code freeze before a release?
We are devlivering a major injcrement in 1 1/2 weeks and have not created a release branch yet but keep merging large feature branches.
