I’ve recently been told that starting salary for new partners in Deloitte UK starts at £160k with no equity, and chances of getting any is slimmer and slimmer every year. My friends group has 6-7 parters and only 1 has equity. Head of the group doesn’t even have equity.

Wow that’s pretty terrible! All PwC partners are equity partners and first year minimum is £400k+ in the UK
Yes D equity partners make the most because there are a lot of non equity partners. Tbh it reeks a bit of animal farm “some are more important than others”... I think if you’re a partner you should be an equity partner not a pretend partner - call it something different.
Sounds about right. I am in the Australian MF. These were the figures for 2019 in AUD. Just to show you the difference in non-equity and equity pay.
Seems very low % of equity partners in that group. Deloitte UK has ~1,070 partners, 709 have equity.
No idea about pay but thought it would be closer to the £250K mark starting off.
Are you at D UK as a Consultant? Bit early it seems. Don't worry, most people will leave the way things are going. This is going to be a really bad year for D UK attrition-wise. Got offered a 50% bump with 3 weeks of job search after my partner passed on backing me for promo this year.
Heard equity partners start at £260k. I'm a 2nd year SC at 65. The closest I can see is M band around 70-80. There's SM and D in between which I'd imagine is 100ish and 130ish.
LOL, I know some Managers at D in the US that make almost that in total comp.
