I’ve really resisted going the big tech route because I really enjoy the speed and responsibilities of startup life, but I’m in my mid thirties and can’t seem to justify leaving that much money on the table by not doing FAANG or a large tech company (not to say I’d be a shoo in for a job). Such a huge difference between $200k with promise of an exit vs $400k in almost guaranteed comp. Does anyone else not want to do big tech? What’s your reason(s)?

- After I get placed I had heard I would be at
80s + 10% bonus and stock at 7%
- stock has vesting schedule of 5 yr

JPM:
80K + Discretionary Bonus

I currently have two accounts with Vanguard: a $0 balance “Rollover IRA” account that was previously converted to Roth when I made under the income limit, and a Roth account.
