I've signed the CTS offer letter for the position of a Senior Associate (non-tech role) and BGV says "complete" on IC Portal. Now I happen to find out the guy (VP) who interviewed me was laid off recently.

Worried if this will impact my joining (16th December). HR hasn't mentioned anything and portal still shows "Completed" for all.

It's my first time with a big corporate, any advice would be welcomed!

Industry vets - in your experience how recession proof is insurance? I was not yet in the job market last recession but I watched my mom get laid off and struggle to find employment during that time for the next 1.5 years. I was wanting to hit the job market towards the end of this year, but now I worry that if I do move companies, the recession could put me in position of last one hired first one fired. Dubai people I live in Marquise Square tower and my neighbor is having a party literally every day till 4-5 in the morning- I spoke to him and he apologized and promised to keep it quiet but he didn’t. So I spoke to the security if they can tell them to calm down and the security said that he can’t do anything as it’s the weekend! Is that normal or should they give me a noise compliance and force him to stay quiet after some time.
