I’ve failed BEC twice, and passed today with an 80. What helped me was getting i75 as supplement, and practiced a ton (around 200-300mcq daily for a week prior to the exam). Review your weak areas, and most importantly ERM/COSO/IT/Cost accounting & variances.

It you’re starting from scratch, just make sure to have 1-2 weeks of review / practice. I had difficulties with BEC bc it was broad and chapters didn’t add up. It took me more time than the average.

I am not advocating one way or another. I have not passed FAR. And I passed BEC without a tutor. I just got a “tutor” for FAR with Universal Bootcamps. I am paying for 1 year of their boot camps. They might be something to look at if you don’t want a 1 on 1 super personal tutor but it covers general topics and can ask other questions if you needed as well. A normal tutor will probably give you more coaching for what you need specifically depending on the areas you actually struggled in

New York folks:
Are you aware of the CPA exam credit extension to 2021 for NY CPA candidates impacted by COVID19? It’s on a person-by-person basis and you need to request the extension. Has anyone tried doing this yet? Can anyone shine more light on this? The extension would really help me, but I’m not sure what more to tell them in my email than the fact that I couldn’t sit for the exams this Spring/Summer due to test centers closing in NYC.
