Just that to go back to PwC and get that 35%.

Sure. You've already got P Dubs on your resume, nothing wrong at all with chasing the money to a smaller firm.

I will tell you this. I was a SA3 in Lighthouse (Data Analytics) at around 120k when I accepted a M offer at a smaller firm and got 150k to build their D&A practice a few years ago. Two and a half years later, rebounded to Lighthouse again because of a partner knowing me(I pinged him and had been in contact with him throughout), and this time got a Director (because of the BD and sales experience I now had) role at 228k base. The said partner has backed me a lot because of his own investment in me and I am going to be a MD this year with a total experience of only 9.5 years when I will get promoted.
Intrinsically, the move out of the firm made my path much faster and doubled my money in just over two years.
You are up for promotion in one year yo MD? Do you also mind sharing how did you boomerang back? Did you just reach out to the partners/mds that you worked with?
