Just got the Amex Platinum with the $200 airline credit. Unfortunately, my preferred airline is United, which doesn't allow gift card purchases. Suggestions on what to do? I was thinking about buying gift cards for another airline which I could then resell for market price.

I work in sf and Nyc and have now saved enough where I’m wondering if it makes sense to buy rather than rent an apartment as an investment.
