I know Liver King is out there but my roommate has been living by his “9 ancestral tenets” and it basically changed his life. Anyone else that follows something similar seen benefits? Seems like he’s rooted on well being and staying connected with the world around you. Even if you think he’s weird his YouTube video is well put together.

May I know what is the notice period if one resigns in infy during the first 6 months of joining? I am a lateral resource and they hired me in June, but they have no projects related to my tech and want me to take weird roles.. seems they are hiring to increase employee count and cross training most. just looking for options..

If you have an emergency fund and/or partner’s income/benefits, I would consider waiting until baby is around 6-8 weeks to start applying (with a goal of starting work around 4-6 months old). Could you freelance for anyone in your network temporarily?
I took a 6 month break with baby #2 and no one batted an eye / even asked why. I felt refreshed and not rushing into a new role.
Very sorry to hear your situation but I think times have changed and hiring managers care more about your skills/culture fit than a brief gap on your resume!
Thank you for your thoughtful reply
I wear my gaps loud and proud. I put the gaps on my resume and on my LinkedIn profile. I’ve received many compliments! I made humans and fed them and bonded with them. I went back into the work force and rose up faster than ever before. Believe in yourself and what you’re doing. You’re incredible!
I don’t think you’ll be penalized for a five or six month gap on your resume, especially if you share you took some planned time off (you could even put “sabbatical” on your resume when you update it). They dont need to know it was because you were laid off and then had a baby.
Im sorry you’re dealing with this now. Pregnancy is physically and emotionally hard enough as it is without having to add losing your job to that. Are you able to file for unemployment?
Thanks for the reply. Yes I will plan on filing for unemployment - so that will be a bit of help.
Apply for unemployment. Look for freelance until baby is born. Collect unemployment until ready to go back to work/find a job. A few months or even 6 isn’t much of a gap.
