Twice a week for 40 minutes

like

I do shows with 1/2 my students each semester. Those doing the show have music M, W, F, and those not performing come T, Th. The next semester, we swap schedules. Elementary Music class was 30 minutes. Middle school is 50.

I too have 5 back to back and all seperate grade levels. It is tough to not have a moment to breathe between. :(

Once a week for 45 minutes

2x a week, 45 minutes each for grades1-4. 2x a week 30 minutes each for kindergarten. 1x a week 35 minutes for 5-6.

Fairly yes. We have about 45-55 in a grade ( 3 sections of about 17) I see about 350 students.

Once a week 50 minutes

Once a week for an hour. But this coming year we might get an extra hour with each class every 3 weeks

Once a week for 25 minutes. I see five back to back classes in a roll without a break between them. A class will be waiting in the hallway as I let the previous class out I’ve been fighting that schedule for years. It’s not enough time with the students and I need a moment to breathe 😰

All classes are 40 minutes, Kindergarten is once a week, and 1-5 are twice a week. The schedule doesn’t fit everyone in, so 7 classes are seen by another music teacher who comes once a week.

Everything got switched, now everyone is 2x a week for 35 minutes.

I see grades 1-5 for 55 minutes a week, split into 25 and 30 minute classes, back to back with the PE teacher, so we trade classes at a designated break in the block. It’s a challenge to remember which class is 25 and which is 30, especially with 3 classes per grade. Seriously, would 60 minutes really be that hard to pull off!??? I also see kindergarten, but that schedule is so wackadoodle this year I won’t even get into it.

Been having trouble moving on since girlfriend ended relationship 3 weeks ago after 2+ years of dating. Before ending it she came over 3 weeks prior to basically give me a chance to work things out and we had a good discussion but then I went back into our routine and didn’t really fight for it or have serious follow up convos that we needed. Now I just have so many regrets that I let her go. I know we still love each other and left on “good” terms but can’t forgive myself for my lack of action.

It’s been 3 years since I (27F) moved to Seattle and still don’t have a solid social circle. Not necessarily a big group… I’m talking 3-4 friends who are easy going and not flakey/ hard to make plans with.

Idk if it’s due to Covid, Seattle freeze, a combination of the two or other factors. Any transplants out there who are NOT the outdoorsy type and feel the same? And if so, how did you get past it?

This is the only bowl I can think to post in, but I'm really feeling it today. Has anyone lost their best friend (i.e. through time/growing up) and feel like none of their current friends could live up to the fun/connection you used to have with your high school BFF? I feel like I put too much focus on that one friend and also my boyfriend and just never actually made time for anyone else. I fucked myself over.

TLDR: Getting over your ex of 2.5 years ghosting you after they said they wanted to reconnect.

I was dating someone for about 2.5 years and then we broke up because of COVID and the long distance was making it too difficult to continue. The break up must’ve been like a 4-5 minute FaceTime because I was very distraught. After we broke up, she started seeing someone else but I was heartbroken and it’s taken me over a year to really get over everything and process those feelings. (Cont.)

Working Moms/Dads: Do in-house positions exist with flex time hours? I need to be able to leave work at 4pm to pick up my son from daycare, but i can get back online at home to resume any unfinished work at 8pm. Is this realistic to convey to any companies in an interview? Pandemic aside, is face time 9-7pm really important? Or should i just try to find a job with a salary that covers a nanny salary and accept that i will never see my son on weekdays (which would be sad for both of us)? TIA!

What type of food do you all feed your fur babies? I have a very picky eater, and doesn’t like hard food/treats. He’s at an ideal weight, and I’ve been making homemade food to mix in with his kibble, but not sure if that’s the best thing to do for his nutrition. I’ve tried wetting his food to make it softer, but he won’t touch it. Not sure if I should look into premade human grade food or continue making my own. Or using something else for his kibble. Any advice would be helpful! Thanks :)

Additional Posts in Elementary Music Teachers

Just heard that my district will have classroom and live-recording learning. I’m thankful because I now can feed my family, my newborn and a recent-sponsored wife! I’m scared because I’m almost 50 and I’m afraid I might catch the virus and die leaving behind my 1 month baby and a wife who is not legal in the state yet! The USCIS or Trump’s dept. thinks she’s not good enough to be in the US!! We applied for green card and SS card since August 2019!

I have a hand full of k-5 students who have gone the first half of the school year without music because of remote learning. Our district is moving to 100% traditional teaching after the MLK holiday. Any suggestions for reintroducing concepts to the group of students that’ll be joining us f2f for music the first time this school year?

Did anyone else’s back-to-school plan not include music at all? I’ve been told I’m still supposed to teach music this year, but they haven’t announced any plans for it yet. You’d think the classes that contain the most students per day would be a higher concern 🙃
