Hi Fishes,
I recently got an offer for Cyber security advisory at PwC India . They gave a 20% hike on the current amount. Thing is that l, the technical interview told me that it is not a software/coding type of position and asked me multiple times if I was interested to do that. Is that a red flag?

I don’t think they’d waste a directors time to say they’re passing 🤷🏼♀️
I’ve never been in that situation, but I’d be surprised if they scheduled a call for a rejection - especially with a director rather than the recruiter. Maybe it’s a quick screen just for that person to meet you, for culture fit?
I bet verbal offer and wanting to gauge your reaction to the numbers

Not necessarily. Seems llmore likely they have some followup questions

Highly doubt a director call for a turn down.
At my boutique the last 15 minute call like this is usually going over the benefits and extending the verbal offer.

I think you got the job. Cant see the director talking to you if they werent ready to pull the trigger. You got this OP!

It's going to be quite the kick in the nuts if OP's intuition is right. And no, I'm not inferring OP is a man or a woman, it's metaphorical. Simmer down.
I'm with everyone else though. Rejection would come via email from the recruiter or ghosted. Good luck!
My guess is the opposite, offer or follow up questions. Either way if they weren’t at least on the fence they wouldn’t bother
Pro
Agree with the above comments. I was at a boutique shop and I had a 15min last call with one of the partners. Then the partner cancelled and just emailed me the offer
If rejected… Either you get ghosted, get a short email from the recruiter, or a call from the recruiter. This is stated in probability in descending order. A director won’t set aside a single minute to give you a rejection call, unless you already had a convo with them and left a good impression overall but the firm just decided you weren’t a good fit.

I don’t know about smaller shops, but I wouldn’t think a director would be the one to extend the offer. Most likely it’s for follow up questions, as they probably have a role lined up for you and want to see if you fit. Typically smaller firms don’t have a deep bench, so they would want you to be engaged immediately. Good luck OP! It’s definitely not rejection. I am 100% sure of it!
Formality meeting so that director doesn’t feel left out of the process. Good luck (and hopefully congrats!).
Sounds like a verbal offer coming. Congratulations
Yep this just happened to me and it was a quick check from the director herself who hinted at the offer and then that afternoon the recruiter called me with an offer
Thanks everyone for your thoughts!! I may actually sleep tonight now!!
