Keep hustlin’ y’all! It’s been 1 mo since I left consulting (exited to a high growth tech company, pre IPO) and I can honestly say every part of my professional life is better. Hours are reasonable, work is interesting, I can make plans for nights / weekends, and people are genuinely excited to work here. Plus TC is much better (200k —> 350k)! Amazons excessive interviews are an awful candidate experience. Why do they think this will help them win top talent in this competitive environment? Especially with their public cultural issues…? Lots of great paying companies without having to take a day off from work to interview! It’s overkill

Taking my shot in tech sales. Consulting was great experience but enjoyed the relationship and BD aspect more and didn’t see myself climbing to partner. Starting in a junior BD Rep role to learn prospecting and earn quota history. Took a big paycut for the potential future earnings as an Account Exec. Did I dun goof? Probably. But I’ll regret it forever if I didn’t take my chance now when I’m still single and young-ish.
