I recently got a very good offer from AWS, the only problem with the role is that it is an individual contributor role. I currently am a software engineering manager and manage 2 teams but I was severely underpaid. After I told my firm that I’d decided to leave they told me that they would match the salary and give me a promotion by the end of next year, which is also a good deal but the promotion is not guaranteed even though they said so. What should I do? Amazon

Honestly didn't think the business would give up any more of their hard earned profits did you?

Deloitte under Deutsch would likely pull the same stunt then wonder why they can't retain talent.
I get your point, but the maths isn't quite right.
Current super is 9.5% of salary, not 9.5% of total package.
So currently, if you are on 100k package, that's 91.3k salary + 8.7k super. After the super increase it becomes 90.9k salary + 9.1k super.
I got the numbers directly off pay calculator which the ATO run. But regardless, taking away money in hand in already underpaid industry is crazy
Is that even legal?
