idk my salary in atlanta assurance was 63k as a senior
Yeah you are definitely underpaid. I was in similar shoes as you at that point of my career though. I decided to change my line of service and changed firms twice since and I more than doubled my salary in two years or so.
Thank you! This is really helpful, a lot of my friends who’ve been in this field a bit longer than me have been relaying similar information.
You have to specify which market you are in...we can’t see your location...
Updated location, first time posting on here my apologies. I’m out of the Washington D.C. area
Yes you should definitely be making more. Start looking and if you find something in the range then take it, but my decision would be to stay until you hit 3 years and get that senior title and then you will get more $$
How much do you think you should be making?
Does that factor in OT pay...you won’t get that anywhere else.
Why didn’t you get promoted to senior associate in over 2 years? Is that normal for your business line?
Due to the timing of when I was initially hired I missed my company’s “promotion period” by a couple months. They promote everyone who is eligible annually in June so if I stick around I’ll be a senior associate come June 2020 (it’s really weird and I never understood why they do this).
Its not always about the money and location is important. I find that the culture of the firm is key to success and happiness. there will always be someone willing to pay you more but what are you giving up for that extra cash in hand.
2.5 years at KCO and you haven’t made senior yet? I’d go somewhere else and ask for mid $80s.
