Laid off beginning of August and fortunately had health insurance for one month. Now with new company waiting on start date to get new insurance. What do people do besides cobra in the instance where kids get sick in the waiting period? Do you just use immediate care clinics?

Use whatever cobra would cover. You can backdate cobra, so no point going to urgent care if it’s not covered

like

It is likely cheaper to go to a PCP or a retail clinic (like CVS minute clinic) than go to a UC unless you really need UC level care. If you dont want to deal with submitting claims through Cobra during this time frame for low level “sick” care, I would tell the PCPs office or the minute clinic that you would prefer to pay cash rather than run the claim through your INS but would like the adjusted discounts from the network you belong to.

like

Delay care…if you have an emergency, cobra is retroactive

like

Also if you go, save the receipts!! If its within 30 days of your new insurance starting they may cover it—not always but sometimes.

like

You should be able to sign up for insurance through one of the exchanges since you had a life altering event. Depending on your state if you now have no income you can sign up for Medicaid for the kids and yourself. You can even get outstanding bills paid through Medicaid if you get coverage approved later but still needed to see a provider.

Anyone know any biotechs/Pharma (ideally oncology-focused) that are looking for a VP (or even SD for the right TC) of BD/CorpDev and allowing for remote/travel models (if not Boston-based) or at least a Boston-based hybrid model? Just want your suggestion on this to help me decide.
I've been working in QA team for big data project and recently I've got offers from Startup and service based MNC as data engineer for the role of Data Engineer.
I've not worked on the actual development of ETL batches till now but I want to learn and grow gradually.

What kind of organisation would be best for me considering my mental health as well because I take too much stress ?

Thanks 🙏
