Taxi line at O'Hare is rarely much faster than waiting for an Uber. However, to that point there's many other options than waiting for 30 mins. I've found success by either taking the blue line and just going all the way downtown or to the next stop and catching taxi or uber, or going to international taxi stand, usually no wait or much much faster
Why do people wait for Uber at airports when there is a taxi line that's much faster?
ORD intentionally makes the Uber/Lyft pickup experience terrible by making those vehicles wait in some off site parking lot and drive through traffic to come get you. Idiotic politician nonsense. It's always faster to use the taxi line in my experience.
30 min to River North? Nice one
Huh? My Lyft was 5 minutes at 945
Honestly I just take the Blue Line. Maybe 15mins later but only $5.
30 min uber ride is actually pretty good
Welcome to my life
I hear you OP. And to top it all the land of Disney has a lot of other wonderful opportunities- always families coming and going from vacation
Out of the 200+ times I've called an Uber / Lyft at ORD, it's only taken more than 15 minutes for them to pick me up in maybe 5 cases. Part of that is just checking both apps and picking whichever one has the shortest wait, but rarely is it worth it to wait in the taxi line or hop on the Blue line just to get off one stop later and call an Uber
Take whatever is faster, my entire point is you shouldn't be waiting 30 mins for anything , there's way too many options to get out of the airport.
Take the train
135 minutes 👍🏻
