Landed a job at Google (BizOps team) and at a start up. Want to go to do an MBA in ~2 years. Comp is equal. More passionate about the start-up but the work will always be remote which I hate. Job transition question: I recently accepted an offer for a new role with Merrill Lynch, the following day I was fired from my previous employer. I haven’t filled out the updated work history background check info yet. The reason for termination was due to performance expectations not being met. Should I reach out to my new employer and let them know that I’ve been terminated? Should I just put the termination update on the background check form and leave it at that? $325k TC at MBB in a non-generalist (still partner track) path.
