What role are you joining at? Not sure on paternity leave time itself, but we have a program where post paternity leave you could join an internal team (e.g. data analytics, recruiting, HR, etc.) and work with them for 6 months to get better WLB vs being staffed on projects, which is nice

May also be valuable to understand requirements to qualify for paternity leave. At EY, you have to be here at least a year before the child is born to qualify.
Believe it says 16 weeks
I don’t know if there’s a specific time threshold for when you’re eligible but we’ve had people take paternity before they were here a year. Work with HR on that.
Assuming you take leave, it will be protected (you won’t be staffed). For pat leave there’s an option to split it into two blocks (e.g. 4 weeks at birth and 4 weeks when your wife goes back to work), which I’ve seen a lot of guys do. TAPP (internal role for 6 months with consulting salary) is great if you’re eligible. More and more men are taking advantage of it so it’s not viewed negatively
No problem, congratulations!
