If you are in a S&T-adjacent role (tech, risk, some MO ops) then you can get in with the right skill set and some networking. Learn about the core concepts - trading strategies, ins and outs of the products, market structure, micro/macro news - and start building relationships with the desks you’re interested in

Try finding an entry level job that will teach you the basics. That's what I'm currently doing. Smaller family/boutique funds could be a good start, more likely to start there than at a big bank w/o experience.

Do you want to stay at Goldman? Maybe GS has changed, but it used to be very difficult to change paths. The way to do it during my 17 years there was to first do a great job in the job you’re in and do what you can to meet the people you want to work with, and then ask for their advice. They usually have a good idea of what it takes. If you really want it, don’t get discouraged by naysayers.
