Looking for thoughts/recommendations, promoted last week to SM and finding it a bit offsetting that some of the SMs I worked with as a Manager tried to 1. derail or block the promotion and 2. are finding it difficult to accept that im a peer and no longer report to them, wanting to argue about immaterial items or trying to create random issues, things that the Partners and Client disagree with and have pushed back on because their happy/satisfied with my work, has anyone experienced this?

Looking to pivot out of a top pharma marketing/ad agency and into consulting. Ultimately want to leverage both experiences to move client side or to a healthcare start up.

I work at a ‘free market’ firm and have developed a very good reputation among partners. Naturally, they are drowning me in work. Each time a new case comes up, the partner will email asking if I have “time and interest” in helping. When I’m at capacity, I take these words at face value and explain why I can’t do it, and that seems to work out ok with no hard feelings. But what’s the “interest” thing? If I don’t want to work on a toxic tort case, do I just say that and pass?

What is your threshold for calling in sick? Nothing pressing at client, no deliverables, everything on track. Can push through, but very loopy from benedryl due to giant bee sting 😂😂

CTR, contracts and department overhaul

our marketing dept is undergoing a complete overhaul. under old leadership, a $75k 12-mo contract was signed to a marketing group that handles our SEO, blog and everything Google Ads. All things I can and am in training to do. Current CTRs on G ads seem pitiful at no more than 0.75%. My meta ads coast around 4-6%. During this overhaul, would it be wise to not renew our contract, and negotiate for me to take over these roles and leverage a raise?
