Gift cards is the worst redemption for Amex points. Anyone saying otherwise is a noob. If you spend any time on boarding area blogs, you would know this.

like

Transfer to an airline will be most valuable, 1cpp for gc's otherwise

like

Yea, gift card are terrible redemption. I get twice that on my personal card for no annual fee

like

Recommend British airways.

like

I would like to convert into miles for a trip to the UK, but the fees on British Airways for reward flights are *terrible* and am not too sure about other airlines. Thoughts?

like

Transfer them to SPG. Not the best exchange rate, but probably best use for points.

like

You can transfer to Cathay Pacific and use those miles to book on BA or AA. Flying on AA metal will avoid the hefty fuel surcharges

like

You can also use them to pay for Amazon and Sephora purchases.

like

General rule that 10,000 points gets you a $100 GC to most stores. It seems to be the best "bang" of the options.

Sales on Samsung last week. Not sure if it's still running but I got a 55' SUHD 4k for about 80k pts

Where are you flying from OP?

All these posts are all junk.... Get real cash. Sell them!
There is a real market for these. ~1.3 cents per point is the going rate right now. When factoring in fuel fists in points tickets, it's rare that the points transfer business case wins unless you go first. I work with a points broker (they exist) but there are some shady ones out there.

@PWC3 is that legit? Have you done it before?

I tried, it worked, I was very suspicious of the process, but got my $1,500 via pay pal for my Amex points - had to create a temporary air canada rewards account, transfer my Amex points to it and then give control to that account to them - received the pay pal transfer instantly

That's pretty sweet! Will have to look into that. Thanks!

Can you combine points you get with a personal Amex and a corporate? Considering getting the spg Amex

P5 yes you can

If anyone lives in that area, can you please tell me if you can still hear any construction noise from inside your apartment when you close your windows at all? Thanks!
