Find someone to sublet for the remainder of your lease.
Just check your lease for the requirements. Most of the time the penalty is just a month or two of rent since landlords are supposed to take good faith efforts to find a new tenant.

The time to find a tenant may differ due to Covid restrictions and tenants not being able to move about as freely as they did prior to Covid. Could be 1 month, could be 5.. I’d recommend subletting at the same cost or a nice discounted cost to soften the overall rent out of pocket. Last resort, break the lease and pay the penalties.
It’s been a long while since I rented a place. Isn’t two year lease a bit crazy. Is it normal these days?

You can request a lower rent rate if other vacant units in your building are being let go at 10-25% discounted rates. Look into this with a real estate attorney. Best money you’ll ever spend. AND you’ll learn a thing or two about how it all works for future knowledge.
I'm on one now (second in a row) exactly to lock in low rates. Otherwise they raise the rent every year. Or at least so I had experienced for years. Worked out well for me in 2018 so seemed like a good idea when I signed another one in Feb. 2020 (!!!).
That sucks and I feel your pain, but kudos to you for making the jump to buy!
Look at your lease for early termination provisions (may have a buy-out provision or notice requirement) and assignment/subletting requirements.
Most states have a Duty To Mitigate for landlords, which means they have to try and rent your apt out. In a decent market, and with the eviction monitoriums going on your landlord will probably work with you, especially if it’s one of the big boys, not worth the legal hassle for them if they can just rerent it
Definitely depends on your landlord, but i'd start with letting them know of your intentions to buy your own place and tell them you're open to sticking around few month until they find a new tenant.
If their apartment doesn't sit empty, a reasonable person would be happy for you. But in any case 2 yr lease sounds a bit excessive
