Overtime meals....haha. we work 40-45 hrs and go home. We dont ot. Hence no meals
Depends on the project. Rule of thumb is that you will get reimbursed the amount it costs you extra to get to he client site than it does to get to the Slalom office. You’ll almost never work overtime lol, but again depends on the project
Awesome culture, lot of projects in Burbs, really nice and helpful people. Welcome!!
@SC1 I might be coming over to Slalom Chicago soon.. Do you need to own a car? Or can you rent one on the project?
The travel expenses policy varies by client /office but i would be shocked if chicago built in travel expenses for all consultants on all projects.
Tl/dr. Dont be shocked when you have to pay uber from train to client out of your own pocket often
@OP “Eat dinner at home with fam!!” thats how we roll.
Second, D1 ☝️. I don't own a car, will i need to buy one now or does slalom cover the cost of travel out to the burbs if put on a suburban client?
They do say you need a car. I don’t have one and take the train to the burbs (and get reimbursed) from downtown. If you live in the burbs, you’ll prolly need a car anyways. Renting a car might not be an option based on the expense policy, might want to check that with the recruiter.
Would ubers from the train to client site then be reimbursed for you, as well? / do you get overtime meals?
How are raises and salaries at Slalom chicago? Are you happy taking a pay cut to be at Slalom?
Pay cut? Your salary / hours worked here will be much higher.
Also depending on your skills, level, and drive you may come over with your same salary
