When I called HR i got a surprise answer..
They mentioned the position which I have intervied is different than the salary rem ranges. And my current salary is higher than position what they have got and asked for approval for rem ranges changes..
Is any one faced this? Ideally HR should know expectation and allocation before scheduling intervjew..

Fora post MBA Consultant, don’t try to get too specific. A huge part of comp is bonus which will vary by a lot (think 20-50k). Just take $200 TC as first year, +-10.
200k is too low for C1 TC. Closer to 250k after accounting for bonus and retirement contribution.
Also I think the firms try and keep competitive with comp packages. I’m sure some differences exist but generally people make choices on work, culture, fit vs. comp…..
A quick scan on Glassdoor indicates that McK base comp and bonus (no signing) is $166.5K + $27.7K. BCG is coming in at $183.3K + $31.4K. That’s a differential of ~$25K in total which is surprising so I get the sense these numbers are off. Can anyone provide directional validation?
Prob true …. It like $25k is going to make a diff in the long term tho
