Globant India Pvt. Ltd. Hi Globers ! I have an offer from Globant for the role of a BA. While discussing the role with HR pre and post the interviews & offer, I had specifically ask the HR to tag me to Ahmedabad location as that's my hometown and I do not wish to relocate. But she has rolled out the offer for Pune location ane verbally ( isn't giving me in writing ) assured me that the location will be flexible. May I know from the fellow Globers if we have location flexibility or WFH option available? Globant India Pv

I have two frameworks which I think fit 95% of cases after doing 100+.
If it’s a strategic decision think of the economics and strategic rationale. Economics should be initial investment, new revs, new costs, and ultimately new profitability. You should contextualize this with payback period or ROI. On the other side, strategic rationale, think about the company (brand, capabilities, finances) the competitors (what will they do, fragmented or concentrated, growing or shrinking) the customer (who are they, which subsets are growing/shrinking, do our distribution channels meet their needs) and the product/service (price, differentiation, compliments and substitutes).
If it’s not a strategic decision but a process question, think about the chronological sequence of events or value chain, e.g. corn production - purchase land, sow, harvest, refine, distribute and then sell. Consider the question in terms of every step and whether changes in a step can impact the attribute you want to optimize for e.g. end to end time, cost.
Between these two frameworks I’d be surprised if you had a case you couldn’t make fit. The above is not exhaustive in terms of the sub components I mentioned e.g. for company you could think about supply chain, core competencies etc... but the shell should serve you well as a starting point for the majority of cases.
Great stuff DWS. I have successfully used either of my two frameworks on all my case interviews as well. Interesting to note that none of MBB has commented on your “canned” approach
Im not a mckinsey folk, but buy “Case In Point” and start reading it. And start reading through popular websites like Preplounge

Honestly, I really hated case in point and plus it’s old fashioned now anyway so a lot less relevant to what McKinsey currently tests and looks for. I would personally recommend look over my shoulder, it’s a little older and not McK style but a good way to see how to answer in a structured manner. You’ll find the recordings on random google drive folders if you search it
I’ve heard victor Cheng is really helpful

Case Interview Secrets is great too, and less prescriptive than CIP. You want to get to a point where you can create your own frameworks vs leaning too heavily on others’!
OP- all the comments made on this thread are relevant and would be great starting points. You can DM me if you have any questions
If you’re just looking for reps in structuring, brainstorming, or other specific segments of the case rather than full blown case practice, check out rocketblocks.me! I found it super useful when I needed to just sharpen certain skills ahead of interviews.
IGotAnOffer for specifically McKinsey was extremely helpful!
How’d you get on?
What was the case question in your practice assessment?
