Facebook (Meta) Hey there! I’m interested in applying for the Rotational Product Manager role at Facebook/Meta. I’m currently working as both a Senior CSM and a Product Specialist at a Health-Tech company. Would anyone be willing to offer a referral (I feel weird making this post, but, he we are haha). Happy to chat if needed. Appreciate your help :)

I went from biglaw cap markets to in house securities/Corp gov as a 5-6th year. I enjoy not billing and never missed deal work. But I never cared about pResTiGe or working on BiG dEaLs. Depends what is important to you.

A different perspective: I miss biglaw. Not the hours, that’s obviously better now. But I miss how on top everyone was of things, how resources were limitless, etc. I also liked how I could generally own my deals and push it along as how I saw fit. In-house, everything has to be checked by everyone and a lot of people just don’t care at all (but will want eyes on things as they want to show to upper management that they are important). I also don’t like my job and have a general counsel who is a crazy micromanager, so take this with a pinch of salt.
The cart is wayyy before the horse here.
I moved Inhouse after a I changed (big) law firms and found myself billing 300hrs/month as a fifth year associate. Quit there after three month albeit huge wage. It was never really my intention to move Inhouse but coincidentally I found a job posting in a big corporation for legal M&A deal work only. To be honest i love it. I can still work in my field but a looot slower. All my former colleagues are inviting me for lunches and events so i can still participate the prestigious lifestyle without selling my soul. Pay cut was substantial but my salary is still more than sufficient. But as said i was very lucky. I loved big law and deal work and I’m not sure if I would have enjoyed finding myself drafting employment agreements and litigating stuff - a thing that happens quite often when you move inhouse and become a general dogsbody.

Look at who is giving you advice. Firm lawyers (who haven’t been in-house) are saying you’ll miss the firm. In-house lawyers (who have been in-house AND at a firm) are saying you won’t miss it. One side has better information for you in that equation.
Thank you. That’s exactly the issue.
