These are fashion/street brands, but ok for apres ski or hanging out in cold weather. They aren’t that durable for actual skiing. Moncler can get ripped easily a ski edge (while carrying). CG is plenty warm, but too rigid for hitting moguls or maneuvering around on skis. For skiing, Patagonia, Arcteryx, NorthFace if you want to be a serious skiier, or goal is to legit be a real ripper. Bogner if your goal is to cruise the blues & have a 2 hour lunch and take it easy. Coming from a serious skier here, and I do have all of the mentioned brands since I ski/in the area alot. Both of what you mentioned are very nice and fancy, but overall, it depends on where you’re wearing it and what you do.
I ski mostly in the backcountry, but when I’m at a resort I’ll wear Descente. The fit is flattering (hooray! I do have a waist in ski gear), yet provides enough stretch and flex to hit jumps or bathroom breaks without feeling restricted.
Touring in the backcountry generates a lot of heat so I’ll wear an Arcteryx shell (mentioned above by A1).
I own multiple pieces by each brand and some have lasted years with little to no sign of use.
North face will be just fine. Patagonia too.
