More companies announcing layoffs. If you were a CEO with a heart, what would you offer as severance? I think most of the severance offered is too low.

I was just laid off due to COVID. Felt invincible when the crisis began but now feel lost as if my career was ripped out with the tide. Slowly gaining motivation to get back on top

Tax Senior here. I’m well liked around the office, I put in the hours and work hard, I haven’t had any dumpster fire projects, but I am a mediocre performer compared to my peers (not as strong project management, communication, not as confident). I just got told they’re firing me. Should I expect severance? Have other people been fired for similar? What did you do with your career?

Frustrating… I don’t like my associate
He’s been on the project for 6 months and doesn’t do anything and isn’t willing to learn anything but some how is still employed . I’m not the type to get someone fired and you know … have prbs paying bills . So I haven’t professionally complained about him but for F*** sake I’m losing my patience … feeling guilty to take his bread and complain … looking for new project … idk what to do

It seems like every time I log into LinkedIn the people who are “starting new positions” are people who already had jobs in the first place. I’m honestly ready to just give up. Unemployed for 8 months bc of covid layoff. Like what’s the point when companies see me as less valuable than those that already have jobs. How do you guys hold up? I'm the hiring mgr for designers in my org. I recently discovered pay band information given to me by the HR generalist I'm working with on hiring was outdated and updated bands had been released over the summer (prior to my hire date). Got an offer for SE III at a large tech company. Product I'd be working on interests me and I think I could grow more than in my current role.

Currently I make 180k base and have ISO/RSUs @ startup (60k/yr worth on paper, but won't be worth anything for a few years, if at all).

The offer is:
Base: $166,500
Target Bonus: 10% ($16,650)
RSU: 120k total (30k/yr)

Thoughts on offer? Should I counter?
