You are being a dick.
I don't know what exactly is a large raise to you but if it is really large without a title change, I hate to break it to you, but you might have been underpaid previously 😀
If this is not a troll, and you want a nice answer - you're fine and don't need to be scared. Continue relationship development to build further security (more important than most people will admit) and the obvious, continue high performance/high utilization/reinvest w people who will be in your FY17 CRT.
@OP, I had a feeling that was the case, and especially if you're newer this all can be scary. @p3 if he or she got a 1 at FY16 CRT and isn't on the bench/ has high utilization and continued high performance he or she is fine with what I stressed above. Everyone has an example, an, 'I know someone,' they want to throw out there, and it's scaring people, when not all of the variables of the case or details are presented. Technically, no one is safe ever at any company, but if the things I mentioned are correct for this employee (high utilization, relationship build, and does reinvest with the right people this year) and he or she is a 1 from this year's CRT, the firm won't let him or her go... Sometimes people get bumped up promo for let go so they have a higher title for when they pursue other opportunities, and I'm also not convinced there aren't other variables in that scenario to be honest (eg how many years at that level just to name one)
Dick indeed
I just dived in barrier reef
Happened to me last year. Got a huge raise. Got laid off the following year (this year)...
PwC 4, thank you. Not a troll. Thank you. Watching the layoffs is terrifying and I had legitimately no idea whether I was "safe"
You are never safe, I know someone who is promoted and then let go
Oh welcome to corporate America
The firm isn't getting rid of its best talent (again unless other variables are involved)
Also OP - what group are you in ? If it's in my space, I'm happy to connect you to some solid senior leadership contacts
@PwC4 FS tech consulting. Thanks again.
For everyone who was laid off, I am sincerely sorry. Best of luck with the job search and best of luck to everyone still holding on at this firm.
