TBWA NY layoffs today.
Hi fishes,
Any guess how many people are laid off from Publicis sapient in past few days? Really scared for my future as I'm also under probation period and deeply regret for my choice of joining this firm...I don't understand why were they recruiting peeps when they were short of projects. Publicis Sapient

You wanna say something? Why do you care? Jesus...
Maybe your company sucked at didn’t have any money or an open position to promote him. The guy has been laid off. Give him a break
Maybe you want to get laid off instead so you can get a title bump? It’s a tough market out there- cut the guy some slack
Let it go OP. The guy got fired. Don't be a douche.
Then don't look at his LinkedIn. The guy just got laid off. I've seen worse exaggerated items on resumes. AS to AD doesn't really seem that much of a stretch.
but you DO sound bitter. also, if he’s been an account supervisor for a total of 8 years, we’ll that’s a pretty sizable chunk of time and makes me think pursuing an account director role is not at all out of the question
OP, how are you privy to all this info and are you sure you know the full story? Maybe there was a long pending promotion they kept dragging their feet on and promising to him and assuming your shop lost business and was unable to keep him on, they gave him the title "posthumously".
Not sure how much more clear we all can be: it 👏🏻 does 👏🏻 not 👏🏻 matter 👏🏻
Nothing you say makes it any of your business. I don’t care if you work in a two-person potato sack with leadership, no one owes you an explanation. Focus on your work and grow up. You sound like a nightmare to work with
BTW, your company sounds like it sucks
Wow. That’s a pretty brazen and absurd assumption coming from an Account Executive. 8+ years of AS experience is pretty impressive and more than enough experience for AD. Clearly you seem to have no concept of how accounts and billing work, so FYI, typically accounts are scoped for specific roles and/or specific billing rates. More than likely, the AS wasn’t *actually* promotes because there wasn’t an open billing position for that title or salary. OR he was about to be promoted, but sadly got laid off before the company was able to formally do so. They didn’t award him a title change out of pity, they gave it to him because he deserved it.
Regardless, it doesn’t affect your life, so why do you care? Don’t you have *actual* things to worry about, like keeping your job? Your colleague got laid off and instead of being empathetic, you’re jealous that the agency supported a title promotion upon his departure?! Wow. Seriously, this is petty and gross behavior. Frankly, this junior-level mentality is probably exactly what’s keeping you from being promoted to Senior. Honestly, this is the mentality I would expect from an intern, *maybe* an Account Coordinator. But an Account Executive? I realize AE is a junior position, but this is one of the most juvenile things I’ve ever heard You have a lot to learn. A lot. 🙄
OP, take a deep breath. Everything PM1 said is 100% true but some of us didn't choose to go as far to lay it out for you because we're all rolling our eyes or feel exactly as the image link you posted. I don't even have the time, let alone desire, to type up all PM1 said, but I totally agree. What you lack is perspective, plain and simple. 10 more years and a few more rounds of layoffs, during one of which it'll be you getting laid off, and you'll be laughing at yourself too at the memory of this post. Until then, Godspeed to you. One piece of pure gold advice I picked up from my old boss when I used to get worked up over inconsequential things:
Ask yourself "do you want to be smart or do you want to be right" about it?
Lolol same sentiments. Thx PM1 for the Friday afternoon laugh. two person potato sack lololol
Who cares? You saying anything wouldn’t accomplish anything and would indeed make you sound bitter.
LOL A huge part of me wants you to actually bring it up during a review like you suggest you think is a remotely stellar idea (“What were you guys thinking? I’d like to understand the rationale behind this.”) LOL I’m literally dying imagining this happening. Some know-it-all junior thinking questioning any level of superior on this like s/he has any business acumen or even remotely deserves any sort of acknowledgement (let alone answer to) such a ridiculous question. Omg my abs hurt from laughing at this. Please do this and report back to us. This sounds like an amazing idea. You must be really super good at your job. I totally see why they kept you on. Must have nothing to do with you being paid 1/3 of what the AS made. 😂
Literally I will Venmo you $20 if you do this tomorrow. Hahahahagrejejahahahahahaieuahhahahaha
There’s only a few of us still employed here (less than 10) and I really want to know why they think this is ok. If he wasn’t good enough for you to promote him why put your reputation on the line now and let him tout that? Do we all just get to change our titles now? I really want to bring it up in my review or even just ask from a curious place “what were you guys thinking? I’d like to understand the rationale behind this.” I’m not afraid to ask. I just don’t want to come off bitter or anything since I have my own goals to work towards. It kills me to see his LinkedIn!!
Yikes
To be clear, I am laughing AT you, not WITH you
Well*
Lol you guys are so intense. The person who managed him directly told me himself when this all went down. So thats why I know all this and it’s probably why it’s annoying. Additionally during his employment here, there was another two AD promotions on his account, an MS hired to work above him, and two AS hired to work on his account and quite frankly sometimes took over the projects he handled. There was room to move up. I know it’s not my place but the only reason that keeps me wanting to understand is because I do work closely with leadership. You can undermine me all you want for my title lol. And yes I am pissed that this is how things are going even though there are layoffs. None of this stuff went down the way it should’ve. PM 1 you are really something lol I’m glad I made you laugh
You guys = PM1 sorry thought it was two intense people instead of one
