My feedback I received this year I want to actively go to HR about.
For context, we have regular weekly team meetings where everyone who is not part of the current conversation or topic are multi-tasking. So no one except the speaker or listeners are engaged.
My feedback was that I needed to "smile and actively recognize others efforts".
This feedback was not applied to the entire team, who obviously have been watching, and just to me.

This feels personal. And nothing to do with my work

I wouldn’t say it’s personal but it is about visibility and that includes how you look. It’s dumb and superficial but good work is not enough to hold a job or get good feedback. I had to learn the hard way multiple times thinking my work was enough - it’s not, good work is basically the standard.

I switched industries for now and am going back to school for something that is of service.

That's exactly how it feels.
I did go to HR and met with them about it. They agreed it was gendered, irrelevant to my work, and was based on perceptions of me and was irrelevant and was removed.

Anyone else have bipolar disorder? I really have a hard time when my boss says I didn’t do something entirely correctly I can just completely spiral out of control if I’m in the wrong mood cont.

My mood has been fluctuating so much lately. Some days (yesterday) I wake up feeling invincible and some days (today) want to hide myself the rest of the world and feel like nothing will ever get better. I’m trying to push myself to make plans with other ppl and am really self-conscious about it cuz I don’t want ppl to see me in low spirit.. any ideas on how to fix that?

I’ve been depressed for years now and this past week I lost a dog I’ve had for 15 years; he was one of the only bright spots in my life and I’ve just found it so hard to focus or motivate myself on anything after this. I genuinely feel like I’m at rock bottom, Idk if I’m crazy to feel that way bc of a dog but I used to be able to control this and put up a front but now my depression and anxiety are starting to leak into my work conversations completely unintentionally, I wish this would stop :(
