What’s he saying that is casually sexist? I’ve googled that phrase before and the examples online run the gamut from, “oh yeah that’s definitely bad” to “wait, what’s sexist about that?”
I have called people like that out and they don’t know how to react. I just say something like: whoa whoa, that seems not appropriate for this setting, maybe save it for after the meeting Bob. I say it in a somewhat jokingly manner, keeping it light, but still making the point. Loud partners don’t know how to respond to that because they never get called out. What can they possibly say in return? Oh- You’re being too sensitive… no Bob, you’re being offensive but let’s move the bus forward and talk about the discovery issue at hand. You should check out jefferson_fisher on Insta or facebook- he’s a lawyer that has all kinds of quips to dealing with difficult situations, like yours.
Sounds like he has a big book.
