I have been given a verbal offer of 145k base for a Sr. Associate role as Data Analytics Lead. The offer doesn’t come with any kind of bonuses or stocks.
I have a Masters and 5+ years of exp and my current comp is 115.5k + approx 5k bonus + ~20k in stocks (yearly refreshes) which makes my total current comp to 140k.
Is it worth taking the offer for increase in just the base?
What are my chances of negotiating into a VP level role with at-least 155k?

Get another job and switch visa?
Damn, sorry for your loss
A1 is an idiot. Other EY's advice for this person? Our PIP processes might be different. Can she look for a different job while she is on PIP? I know it might change the visa process but maybe a new company any can support it?
You cannot switch employer on L1 visa . I think the h1bs for this year are over and won't open till April next year
What % of PIPs actually make it in EY ? In advisory , folks are just laid off . The fact that she was not laid off straight away means there is a chance to get out of PIP ?
Tell her to look for another job. A PIP is a pretty clear indicator that you don't ft in with the firm, professionally and culturally.
What is PIP?
I was almost placed on one of these at my old job but it was clear they wanted to get rid of me and that the pip process was just an HR formality that they had to follow. Different companies probably do it differently but tell her to work hard and try to improve while also going balls to the wall with the job search. She should work under the assumption that she'll be unemployed at the end of the pip.
3 month PIP , not 9 month PIP .
It happens
It is possible to get off, PIP, if she can avoid working with that SM and have another in her corner.
However, chance for advancement drops precipitously
Get through PIP, tell your friend to do what it takes in next 3 months
Apply for h1b next year. Marry a person with green card or American citizenship :)
Prepare for life elsewhere. Harsh reality
Performance improvement plan . She got into a tangle with her SM on last year's engagement and got a 2 . Now put on a PIP.
She's likely gone in 3 months. Is home that bad?
@ey 5 - Thanks . That's encouraging and in line with what I have learnt too . EY is different . You are on edge but not just going through HR motion. Going to impress upon her to set smart goals for the plan , have weekly counselor check ins and bust balls . HR meeting on Monday .
Don't be surprised in 3 months if she gets dismissed despite all of that. My colleague was on a PIP, was on a couple of projects where he received the highest ratings and was utilized (and met the numbers). A PIP is more for when they actually lay you off you can't sue for wrongful dismissal.
