My H1B visa transfer with EY has been approved. We have received the e-approval. Can I now resign or give notice at my current firm? The guidance apparently is to wait for physical copy of the approval before officially resigning. But that date is uncertain and I’m afraid I could get the physical copy a day before my start date or a week after that. I’d like to give my firm around two weeks notice and I am scheduled to start on 27th Sept. Thoughts?

Transfer is approved…in 2 days. Idk which center
I would push out the start date to be safe and stay at your current form until you have the paper copy before giving notice
Agree with this. Don’t quit until you have the I-797A in hand. EY law even told me that there have been errors with approvals in the past. Better to just be safe. The physical approval will only take about 1 week to get to you.
I think you are fine to give notice once you get approval.
E-approval is as good as physical copy. Eapproval carries all information about your transfer, so you are good to go.
I think you’re fine to give notice
You’re fine to give notice… I went through the same process with EY. Also wanted to take a two week break before my start date, after my two weeks notice. Got my approval notice about a week or week and a half after the eapprobal was confirmed with EY.

You need a physical copy for the I-9 verification. Takes 3-4 days to receive it from uscis so what’s the rush. Don’t give notice yet, just milk that payroll.
The photocopy works too. I9 verification can be done with passport and approval notice photocopy
You don't need a physical copy to join your new firm. As long as it's approved and you have an email confirmation, you may resign if you have your start date.
I have put in the notice once the electronic approval is received, which is typically within a week. The electronic approval captures all required fields for you to ascertain your details, employer and the validity dates. You should be good to give the notice.

You can resign and join the new firm with just a H1B receipt (pending approval). Of course there is some risk there but it’s legal to do so.
If your case is approved then you are absolutely fine to resign and join. I don’t see any risk in giving your notice.
That’s not a mandatory document to join the new company. Receipt number is enough.
PS: This is not a legal advice, please consult your attorney 😜
You are all set. Welcome to EY

you could have joined EY on the receipt. YAs per immigration you are good to join w/o delay.

I have received offer letter from Business Consulting, Finance team from EY US LLP.. I wanna know what are the chances of getting L1B visa approved?
Electronic approval is an email sent to lawyers right?
Yes.
Question to OP- Did you join yet? Was there a need to move your joining date? When you resigned, was it based on the e-approval or you had to wait for the physical document?
