I had jobs in 7 different cities (and states) before “settling down.” It used to be very common for creatives to get jobs wherever the hottest agencies were. But there are so few of them now (hot agencies and jobs, not cities). BTW, pay in London is considerably less than in major US markets.
This is truth…
You’re passionate, hardworking and looking for awesome creative opportunities? In LA?
Get in line.
Working in london is very awesome but unless you have a British passport you’ll need an agency to sponsor for you a visa. Like the person above said, this is much easier to do if you transfer within a network.
I lived in London and a few cities in the US working in advertising but not a creative. For London, you should see if there’s an opportunity within your agency’s network to move over. You would need a visa and sponsorship so it’s easier if your existing agency has an office there.
Working and living in outside of the US is the best experience ever. I worked in Bangkok, Thailand in advertising for a few years... Find an agency with global accounts...
I have, several times. Look at eligibility of residence and working visas first. A lot of people, particularly in the US, who have never lived overseas tend to have an impression that it’s an easy and generally attainable process to live and work overseas. It’s usually not.
LA has a ton of creative people and few creative jobs...
