When is the good time to tell the company that I am 3 months pregnant. My date of joining is 18th of July. I understand by law I need to finish 80days with the company before I avail maternity benefits which I can easily do in next 3 months.

OP, I think that depends a lot on the agency and on the account. I haven't had a weekend meeting in yeeeeeears. I leave at 5:30 everyday, but I do get back online once my son is asleep. And I think that becomes more common the more senior you are, too.
A nanny or nanny share is sometimes more flexible than a daycare. Do you know where you might like to live? There are some good neighborhood slack channels/yahoo/google groups that you can check out in advance that might give you tips on childcare, neighborhood amenities etc. As for work, I think some agencies are definitely better than others for parents. I left an indie filled with 23 year old social media managers for a big established shop staffed with grown ups and it was a much better situation. The work isn’t as exciting, but I leave at 530 every day.
The fact that you’re nervous about it might mean it’s not right for you. Raising kids in NYC is fun, exciting, and rewarding but it’s not for the faint of heart. In general, nervous people don’t make very good New Yorkers.
It’s not the NYC part that makes me nervous (though I’m not relishing the idea of apartment hunting particularly) but the agency life. When I left New York my agency was basically a daily game of “who can stay at their desk the latest?” And last minute 9pm nights or all day Sunday meetings were common.
How old is your kid?
And where are you potentially coming from?
Coming from Massachusetts. We lived and worked in NYC about four years ago before trying this to be closer to extended family. Kiddo is eight months now.
