I was laid off during Deloitte‘s mass layoff in July of last year. I have worked as an independent contractor since and projects haven’t been consistent at the client I’m working for. I’m looking to get back into a big firm and was seeing if anyone would be able to refer me or help get my foot in the door. I was a business analyst for 1.5 years at Deloitte and have several years of additional experience which I’d be more than happy to share.

Yes. Leverage your personal network as much as you can. if it's truly a budget situation then they will feel for you and try to help you out.
Not just the recruiter. Ask all the other creatives who surely have friends who work at other shops in town.
I got my first job that way! My internship couldn't hire me, and I found an open rec at a company in the network. A colleague then recommended me to people they knew at that company. Ask and you shall receive 😊
We had an intern we couldn’t hire due to budget reasons. They came to us with a job they were interested in at another agency and we used our social networks to give them a solid recommendation so they could get hired. It worked!
Would definitely leverage the current bbdo network and go in with some options you’d like to explore so they know where to start.
Recruiters know other recruiters so they’ll get you in touch with them. When I got laid off once, the recruiter from the agency that laid me off sent me a list of people I could get in touch with post lay off which was awesome. If you’re a good egg, people will help you.
in a follow up question to this- if yes, how do I phrase it?
I know we have lots of connections here, at other agencies and at the big social media companies as well...but I don't exactly want to say "I'd like to work at Droga 5/Pinterest, can you make that happen?"
