I was just offered a CUNY role. The title is Higher Education Assistant. According to Glassdoor, the average annual pay for that role is $83,418. However, I was offered $62,500. I requested for the minimum annual salary to be 75k. Does anyone have experience navigating the CUNY system and their pay?

You tell us how desperate you are. Are you able to pay bills for the next couple weeks/months? You’d be disgustingly overqualified for a front desk job and they may not even hire you if they feel you’ll leave as soon as you get another job. Ideally you’d be applying more than just casually and apply to as many jobs as possible every single day so you can get a job that is suited to your skills and knowledge.

You say you have time to lose if you apply for those jobs. Are you not wasting time by working a job you know you don’t want? Hotel front desk is basically customer service, people will yell at you and complain all the time. I had that job when I was 18 and don’t recommend. Not to mention you’re overqualified and would likely be miserable.
Hate to say it but it depends. Do you have opportunities coming around for your certification? How would taking on a second job affect your work life balance? Purely from a financial standpoint, I’d say no, but that also assumes you can live on half what you’d normally make
